Youth Voice Journal (YVJ) is an international, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that publishes theoretical contributions and empirical studies on international issues affecting young people. YVJ is published by IARS Publications, a member of COPE. YVJ is ranked and indexed by Scopus, ORCID, Kudos, Criminal Justice Abstracts, EBSCO Information Services and The European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS).

Youth Voice Journal: Call For Submissions

The IARS International Institute would like to invite you to submit your contributions for the Youth Voice Journal Online.

The best submission from authors under the age of 25 will be considered for the “IARS 2016 Youth Research Project Award” along with £100 and a one year subscription to Youth Voice Journal. For Youth Voice Journal submissions to be considered for this Award please submit work by the 30th September 2016 to Editor in Chief, Dr. Theo Gavrielides at t.gavrielides@iars.org.uk

About the Journal

Youth Voice Journal is an international, multidisciplinary, peer reviewed journal that publishes theoretical contributions and empirical studies on issues affecting young people worldwide. The Journal publishes scholarly and peer-reviewed papers of the highest standard including case studies and book reviews. YVJ aims include:

  • Creation knowledge and contribute to the academic literature by publishing high quality research on issues affecting young people
  • Providing a medium, especially for young researchers and young academics, to inform debates around social policy through high quality research
  • Actively encouraging and aiding those young people whose voices are rarely heard by policy makers to contribute to the journal

The journal is managed by an international independent Academic and Editorial Board and is a reference source for academia, policy makers and youth services internationally. The peer reviewed YVJ is also now a proud member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Call for submissions

We are looking for research that has displayed a degree of methodological innovation to enable young people to engage in research, or a fresh perspective on a legal/policy issue facing young people. We would welcome submissions on youth policy matters with a particular interest in

  • Youth crime
  • Human Rights
  • Citizenship
  • Restorative Justice
  • Youth-led approach to research and policy.

We also accept book reviews, article reviews and short critical pieces. More information about the call can be found here.

Submission information

If you are interested in contributing, please consult our Author Guidelines and Editorial Policy. All manuscripts are peer-reviewed within 4-6 weeks before being accepted for publication. Kindly note that the Youth Voice Journal is published once a year but submissions are published instantly in the Youth Voice Journal Online. All submissions will be subject to the normal process of peer review.
